Fire chief Eric Moulin speaks to journalists near the Parc Monceau in Paris after 11 people were struck by lightning.

“I saw immediately that one of the children was in cardiac arrest, so I provided them with first aid”, he said on another network. “Without his actions, it would have been much worse”.

A total of eight children and three adults were injured, an official with the Paris Police Prefecture told CNN.

ELEVEN people including eight children were hurt overnight when lightning struck a Paris park during a child’s birthday party.

This off-duty firefighter gave first aid to some of the injured children in the park.

Councilor Karen Taieb says 11 people in all were hit by lightning Saturday after seeking shelter under a tree at the Park Monceau, a popular weekend hangout for well-to-do families.
