Pep Guardiola forced into changes for Man City against Bournemouth

Manchester City summer signing Ilkay Gundogan has described his debut as “the ideal day” as his side got their Champions League campaign off to the flawless start with a 4-0 rout of Borussia Monchengladbach.

Since then, City fans have booed the anthem that UEFA uses before Champions League games, while the club has regularly struggled to fill the stadium on European nights. I don’t think it’s a big, big problem but it happened two days ago so I don’t think he’ll be able to play. We will see and talk to the doctors.

“The last games showed that we always play a very good first half – we did it against (Manchester) United and West Ham – and the second half was a bit more hard for us”, said Gundogan. “Next time I will be there”.

Guardiola has City playing good football so far this season – they have won all seven of the matches they have played since the start of the campaign.

‘We are so happy but after that you think again and start to worry about the strikers of Bournemouth, how they play.

Speaking about the appointment of Guardiola, Howe said: “I think they’re an outstanding team”. Despite (my form) in the Premier League, and my last season at Atletico, I’ve improved in my game near the box and scoring goals. We can not make something good in the Champions League in the coming years without them. “Today the stadium is not completely full so the only thing we can do is play good so the people at home say “Wow next time I will be there”.

But after their convincing victory over their German opponents and the prospect of Barcelona arriving at the Etihad on November 1, Guardiola hopes the City fans will turn up in their droves in future matches.

Guardiola said: “Sergio is one of the best, no doubt about that. He is a special, special player”, said Guardiola.

Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to continue deputising for Aguero while £37 million new signing Leroy Sane could come in for his first start after coming off the bench for City’s last two matches. The first half perhaps I wasn’t so happy, I lost a lot of balls but the second half was a bit better. “But if he can help us in that way, he’s going to score a lot of goals”.

Gundogan wasn’t in the original team to face Monchengladbach on Tuesday night but, after the game was put back 24 hours because of thunderstorms in Manchester, he came into the side with David Silva rested as a precaution after picking up a knock in training.
