Pep Guardiola gives Joe Hart his blessing to leave Man City

Stoke City welcome Manchester City to the newly named Bet365 Stadium in Pep Guardiola’s first away trip in the Premier League, and its arguably one of the hardest places to visit.

Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen have been linked with moves to Etihad Stadium, while Guardiola selected Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero against Sunderland and in City’s 5-0 Champions League qualifier victory over Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday.

The Englishman has been the first choice for the Citizens for six straight seasons, but has been relegated to the bench after Pep Guardiola’s arrival as the Spaniard is looking to find a goalkeeper with more technical ability on the ball.

“I don’t want players to stay if they don’t want to”. If they want to stay the can stay and we fight together.

At the very least, it looks increasingly unlikely that Hart will be Manchester City’s goalkeeper this season.

“If they want to leave because they prefer to play every game – not only speaking about Joe, speaking about all the players at the club, the squad – (they can)”.

“They [players not picked for City’s opening two matches] are not out of the group”. I spoke with him about his situation, he’s a player with huge quality. “All of the managers in the world want to create chances and to concede few, that’s what we all want – OK, we are there, so now rest and then focus on Stoke and the second game”.

“I can’t express how I’m feeling”. Today but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to [change] in the future.

Hughes also confirmed defender Glen Johnson will miss a second straight match due to a thigh injury. The players that may be available, a lot of other teams at our level and above our level are interested’.

Aguero is the top scoring player in the Premier League so far in 2016 (18 goals in 19 games) – four more than the next best; Harry Kane (14 goals). “I knew about him before, but I’ve been really impressed with him since I arrived”, he said. “I am going to Stoke for the first time in my life, so let’s go”.
