Pep Guardiola pleads with Manchester City fans to attend Champions League matches
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed the majesty of prolific marksman Sergio Aguero after the Argentine’s hat-trick stoked his side’s Champions League hammering of Borussia Monchengladbach.City’s group stage opener was postponed for 24 hours after heavy rain forced the fixture to be abandoned on Tuesday night.

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has signed a one-year contract extension through to 2020 – quelling previous reports of a return to Argentina after the 2018 World Cup.
“I’m thinking about it (playing Gundogan again) – I don’t know”, said Guardiola.
“I am not the right person to know if it’s definitely going to happen”. I’m so happy. I knew how hard and important this game was. We can not make something good in the Champions League in the coming years without them.
But Arsenal, who visit Hull City on Saturday, will draw encouragement from having rescued a 1-1 draw from their mid-week trip to Paris Saint-Germain despite being outplayed for much of the game.
Guardiola was particularly happy with their first half performance: “We played good”.
“All we can do is play every time better than the day before and the people say, ‘wow, I’m going to the Etihad Stadium because I spend 90 minutes there and I have fun”.
Kelechi Iheanacho has scored nine goals from just 13 shots on target in the Premier League for Manchester City.
Adam Smith: “We know the quality that they have but we’ve got to try and frustrate them and play our game and hopefully we can nick something. There are still many things we can do better”. And I’m going to feel that tomorrow.
“It’s not a big problem but I think he won’t be available tomorrow”, Guardiola said inFriday’s press conference. “We won the ball back quickly and created a lot of chances, but when you have that many chances to counter attack against a team like Manchester United you have to take advantage”.
“Every team needs to score to win games and if you have such an incredible player, such an incredible striker then it gives you the safety that you are always able to score and he did it three times today”.
“I tried to be a little bit more involved, a little bit more present, because I’m curious about what they do”. I think here the difference is more games.

“The good players, the medical team, all the people involved there are so, so important”. “That’s why our job is so handsome”, added Guardiola. “Coming here in three or four weeks are the best football players ever with Luis Suarez and Neymar and Lionel Messi and Barcelona, and we have to enjoy it”.
