Pep Guardiola: Rummenigge: Bayern relaxed over Guardiola future

The former Barcelona manager is in the third and final year of his contract with the German champions but Bayern’s chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, admitted on Thursday that they have yet to enter negotiations over extending his stay. However, according to reports in Spain, that could well be because Guardiola has set his sights on England.

There are also rumours that the Bavarians are close to offering new deals to their star performers, including Muller, but the club CEO decided against naming any of the players they are in discussions with over a new contract.

Recent reports had suggested that a contract offer for Guardiola is on the table.

The stories regarding the future of Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola have seen many twists and turns thus far, but it is the first time the Barcelona media have reported it with such conviction.

“If Guardiola eventually goes, I’m sure we will come back with an excellent coach”. Players come and go.

“We have always said that there will be a decision in 2015”, he told Spiegel.

‘I know that it’s late, just days before Christmas. After the Hannover game on December 19, talks will take place and then we will announce the result.

Guardiola has already promised to make his decision before the end of the year and Manchester City are not the only club interested him in offering a new challenge away from the Bundesliga.
