Pep Guardiola to AXE Yaya Toure

“But I wasn’t sure he was going to play so I prefer to leave him there, training well in Manchester and looking forward to the next game”.

“It’s not down to me, the two clubs agree the fee and it gets put on your head, but it’s nothing to do with me”, he said ahead of City’s Champions League play-off first-leg encounter at Steaua Bucharest.

The player’s agent, Dimitri Seluk, said on Monday that his client was keen to stay at City.

While Guardiola insists the 29-year-old is in contention, Hart is bemused his coach preferred Willy Caballero for Sunderland’s visit.

Bravo is being linked with City amid doubts over Joe Hart’s future, with a source telling ESPN FC that the England global is considering his options.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at the Arena Nationala.

Rangers midfielder Barton, the City academy graduate who spent five seasons in the first team before departing in 2007, told talkSPORT on Wednesday: “It is not the club I left. The most important thing for me is to enjoy this game and that I keep improving”.

But what do other top-class ‘keepers think of Guardiola’s decision to ostracise Hart?

City laboured to victory over Sunderland but some of Guardiola’s ideas were eye-catching and he is convinced his approach will come good.

“I am very optimistic we can play the football I want”. After that the result is coming.

“The first target is to try to play good for us and for our people, our fans. That is how I would like to feel”. Hopefully I will be here for a while and keep improving, enjoying my game, winning games, and become a victor.

And the one-time England worldwide – who made 130 appearances for City between 2002 and 2007 – has suggested they could miss out on a Champions League spot this season following their summer transfer window struggles.
