Pep Guardiola won’t close the door on Joe Hart

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said the door was not closed for club stalwarts like Joe Hart and Yaya Toure despite dropping them for his first Premier League game.

Leicester City began the defence of their title with a 2-1 defeat at newly-promoted Hull while Swansea and West Brom also claimed opening-day wins.

However, the manager played down the decision and says the 29-year-old could start City’s Champions League playoff first leg clash away to Steaua Bucharest on Tuesday night.

But Guardiola said: “I don’t have any complaints about these names”. “Yaya trained really good”.

De Bruyne then stung the palms of Mannone with a free kick, but City’s lack of cutting edge soon came back to haunt them as Sunderland levelled things up against the run of play.

With $200 million spent on new players and Guardiola arriving from Bayern Munich to manage an already impressive lineup, City is the hot favorite to win the league this season.

The midfield duo were left out of Guardiola’s squad for his first Premier League match, along with striker Wilfried Bony and centre-back Eliaquim Mangala.

In a conference call ahead of UFC 202, AS report that McGregor claimed that he would find it hard to overtake Ronaldo in Forbes’ rankings as “he’s just signed a new contract with Real Madrid but we’ll see, maybe next year I’ll have him!” I know how good a goalkeeper he is, but today I decided for Willy.

Sunderland enjoyed a five-minute spell of pressure at the end of the first half, in which Willy Caballero expertly denied Jermain Defoe from point-blank range. I am really impressed with his quality.

McNair, who had only been on the pitch for four minutes on his Sunderland debut having signed from Manchester United, nodded into the corner of his own net after Jesus Navas’ cross.

“We’re disappointed we didn’t take a point, which everyone would have said would have been a really good result”. He gave me today a lot of confidence for his build-up play, for his personality and that’s why I choose him. “I saw him many times playing for Liverpool and all my staff want to help him to see the real Sterling”.

Moyes concluded: “I’ve said to the players that they have to play like that in every game”, and believes “They’ve set the standard for effort and commitment and they’ll be getting it from me if they drop below that”.

“I’m very pleased about the performance we achieved”.

“I was so happy with what I saw in the opening minutes but we did not attack when the situation was there for us to attack”.
