Peppers also finished the game with nine tackles and six solo tackles.

The conference weekly defensive honor is Pepper’s first.

Peppers is the sixth Wolverine since 2004 and the first U-M defensive player since Brandon Herron in 2011 to win the Camp honor. Mike McCray earned the award two weeks ago. On special teams, he totaled 99 yards on four punt returns (including a 54-yard return touchdown) and notched two kick returns for 81 yards. Jehu Chesson (Oct. 12, 2015) was the last Wolverine to earn conference Special Teams player of the week honors. He now ranks fourth in the FBS in average yards per punt return with 21.6 and leads the FBS with 173 total punt return yards through three weeks.

Pepper shared defensive honors with Ohio State linebacker Jerome Baker, who had a 61-yard interception return for a TD in the Buckeyes’ win over Oklahoma.
