Reports this week suggested the 25-year-old could be set to replace the Haas-bound Romain Grosjean at Enstone.

“I am very happy to confirm that I will be staying with Sahara Force India”, said Perez.

The news means the team will enter its third straight year with no changes to the lineup; Perez has partnered Germany’s Nico Hulkenberg since his debut at the team, and World Endurance Championship victor Hulkenberg had his own contract renewed earlier in the year.

“I can feel the potential in the team and there is a good energy, which gives me confidence for next year”.

“We have taken a lot of encouragement from the result in Singapore, which was my third points finish in a row, and I think we can score well in Japan too”, Perez said.

“He’s also got a great attitude and never gives up ” it ” s that fighting spirit which fits well with this team”.

Sergio Perez, who has finished fifth, sixth and seventh at the last three races, thinks the team’s recent form is proof of how strong the VJM08 B-Spec can be at any circuit.

He had been heavily linked with joining Renault, who look ever more likely to be taking over the Lotus F1 Team at the end of this season, but the Mexican poured cold water on the reason that he chose Force India was because Renault had yet to announce its plans for 2016.

“We have two drivers that get on well within the team, they’re pushing each other all the time”. I’m not sure that we could do better, that’s the key.
