Perez’s 16th homer came off Cedeno (3-3) after a single by Eric Hosmer.

Kelvin Herrera pitched the ninth for his second save.

Archer took his major-league-leading 15th loss despite holding Kansas City to three runs on six hits.

Andriese pitched 42/3 innings on June 25 in a spot start at Baltimore in the first game of a doubleheader.

Giants third baseman Matt Duffy, who was in the running for rookie of the year last season, is one of the players heading to Tampa Bay in the deal.

After winning four in a row the Rays offense never got going and has the team looking at back to back defeats.

Duffy (7-1) got within six outs of the Royals’ first no-hitter in almost 25 years, but Desmond Jennings led off the bottom of the eighth with a double to left field.

DODGERS: Yasiel Puig followed the team’s wishes when he didn’t show up to the stadium on Monday before the team departed on its road trip to Colorado, Manager Dave Roberts said.

“I just got off the phone with Bobby and told I’m ready to go tomorrow”, said Moore, who had been scheduled to pitch today.

Strahm was called up from Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Sunday after Kansas City placed Wade Davis on the disabled list with a flexor strain. Alcides Escobar had an RBI single in a two-run eighth that put Kansas City up 3-0.

“There’s been a number of occasions when Danny’s stepped on the mound and I said this might be the night”, Royals manager Ned Yost said. “I’ve been playing very well and I feel like I’ve only gotten better”.

“It’s an honor to have a game like those guys had”, Duffy said, “but I understand they had a lot more of those than I did”. Moore is now under contract at San Francisco for three seasons, but the Bay Area could be a good fit for the former Fighting Pinto.

Through 63 games, Jennings has managed to hit for just a.202/.286/.352 slash line and he has also added seven home runs and 19 RBI.
