Person of interest description released in search for cop shooter
A man accused of shooting an Algood police officer and then firing shots at a Kentucky state trooper is on the run near White House after opening fire on another officer.

The local superintendent, Kirk Biggerstaff, said he didn’t want students waiting for buses in sparsely populated neighborhoods that overlapped the search area.
Cook is believed to travelling on foot or in a beige 2006 Ford Ranger. As a precaution, school has not been held yet this week in Cumberland County.
With multiple agencies now involved in the hunt for the fugitive wanted for shooting an Algood police officer on Saturday, the investigation has revealed the identity and description of a person of interest who may be aiding Floyd Ray Cook. Nelson said the deputy was wearing a bulletproof vest, which saved his life.
Kentucky State Police have expanded the search to Cook’s hometown of Lebanon in Marion County.
KSP says that Cook could be travelling with 50-year-old Troy Wayne.
The shooting has forced the Cumberland County schools to stay closed on Monday and Tuesday due to safety concerns, the district said on its website.
“Given his history and most recent actions, Cook should be considered armed and an extreme danger to the public”, Trooper Gregory said.
“He’s as unsafe as they come”, Gregory said.
Just this past august the Department of Corrections says he stopped reporting to his parole officer – a violation that marked him as an absconded criminal.
Wayne is described as a white male with green eyes, short brown and gray hair, possible facial hair and glasses. The second shooting happened across the state line in Kentucky.
