Authorities are seeking 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami, a naturalized USA citizen from Afghanistan.

The devices in Elizabeth apparently looked similar to what detonated in Seaside Park, New Jersey, on Saturday morning ahead of a Marine race.

According to several news outlets one of the devices exploded as Federal Bureau of Investigation bomb squad robots attempted to disarm it, and local mayor Christian Bollwage confirmed details to reporters on the scene.

Police in New York City released a picture Monday of a man who is being sought in connection with the bombing in Manhattan that injured 29 people.

He added that while on Sunday officials didn’t know whether there was a foreign connection, he added that “today, I believe we’re going to find out that it was targeted by a foreign body”. “There is no link at this time at this preliminary stage to global terrorism”, he said, adding that police will consider any motive, terroristic, political or personal.

The Chelsea explosion occurred about 9pm, outside a residence for blind people on West 23rd St. New York City will open a Resident Service Center which will be located inside of the NYC Emergency Management vehicle located on the northeast corner of West 23rd Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.
