Persona 5 coming to Europe – courtesy of Deep Silver

“And it doesn’t stop there”, they add, “more ATLUS and SEGA titles are in the works for this publishing deal”.

The news comes as a surprise, given Persona developer Atlus is owned by Sega, which has a European publishing operation of its own.

We don’t yet have a release date for Persona 5 in Europe, but it’s due out in the U.S. in February 2017.

In addition to Persona 5, Deep Silver has also said that it will be bringing over other select titles from Atlus’ catalog, according to the tweet from the official Deep Silver Twitter handle. “They have a strong passion for being able to deliver physical games to our fans in those territories, which we hold in high regard”. SEGA Europe is known for having frequent release delays and suboptimal service, which fans would certainly not want to deal with, considering the games that are on the table.

Atlus has previous form with Deep Silver and also with a Team Persona-made game too: the latter helped publish the excellent Catherine in Europe for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2012 following a late 2010 launch in Japan and a summer 2011 launch in the United States, both published by Atlus.

In the meantime, those of us in United States will have to wait until February 14, 2017 for Persona 5 to arrive stateside. The announcement was tweeted out this morning, and a follow up announcement from Atlus confirmed 7th Dragon III: Code VfD will reach Europe. Expect our review for the latter soon.
