According to the RSPCA, there are an estimated 7,000 primates kept as pets in the UK.
But welfare groups worry the problem is only getting worse, for monkeys in particular, due mainly to their owners feeding them unsuitable human foods.

The welfare experts have advised to put some healthy diet and a regular exercise in their daily routine. They said that by following these steps we can surly reduce the overweight and obesity problems among the pet monkeys.
