Peter Barlow to make permanent return to Coronation Street
Peter made a brief return to the soap past year to attend the funeral of his soap stepmum Deirdre Barlow.

And according to the soap’s new producer Kate Oates, it won’t be long until Ken Barlow’s son catches the eye of a member of the opposite sex.
Peter, played Chris Gascoyne, left in 2014 but made a brief return previous year for Deidre Barlow’s funeral.
The casting of Daniel and Adam has yet to be confirmed, although Oates is now negotiating for Sam Robertson (who played Adam between 2004 and 2007) to reprise his role.
“But something will happen when he arrives which is unexpected and means he has to stay – or wants to stay”.
“I’m looking forward to seeing that first family on the soap sending ripples through the street”.
Producer Kate Oates confirmed that she would also be bringing back Peter’s nephew Adam and half-brother Daniel. “When he returns he may not be completely honest”.
“One of the things I am most excited about and something I consider a real privilege is that I am lucky enough to work on the longest-running soap”, said the one-time Emmerdale boss. “Everybody here loves him too”.
“I love the idea of Ken as the head of the family which has Tracy, Simon and Amy here now”.
She said: “In the chapel of rest scenes, we have basically seen David promise to avenge Kylie’s death”.
“So I’m excited to bring Peter back to the show”.
“You always think: “I’d love to work with this character or that character” and Peter’s always a character that you’d want to work with”.

No doubt Peter will find himself immersed in some sort of Corrie love triangle soon, or at the very least keep that son Simon of his in check.
