Peter Capaldi Will Be Back For Doctor Who Season 10

When Steven Moffat brought back Doctor Who ten years ago many people thought the sci-fi series – with its clunky costumes, robot dogs and sonic screwdrivers – couldn’t compete with today’s more serious TV.

In a recent interview with Variety, Steven Moffat confirmed that the Scottish actor, Peter Capaldi, “is going nowhere”. Of course, no show is ever completely safe when it comes to staying on the air, and Doctor Who is not the cheapest to produce.

The BBC show is on its Peter Capaldi is on his second series playing the Doctor, with Jenna Coleman has his sidekick/BFF Clara.

I think we all have to think about this because my children don’t think in terms of schedule on television at all, even with “Doctor Who”, which their dad makes. I’m assuming it will be an attractive female (or male, eh, Captain Jack?), but who that is exactly hasn’t been determined. The show that was always a staple of British viewing became a cult hit in the United States, but audiences have responded differently to different Doctors.

“It is definitely going to last five more years”. It’s not going anywhere. It’s television’s own legend. While Moffats boast of five more years in the BBC business plan sounds good, fans will rest far from easy until official word actually comes down from the BBC. Most shows have a built-in mortality.

‘It will carry on forever, because you can replace every part of it’. But it is kind of identified by me and Jamie (Mathieson) as a children’s show. And on. And on. Or do you think after saving the Doctor in the past, the Doctor just might fail to save her when it comes to her final moments?
