Peter Parker back to high school misfit roots in ‘Homecoming’
Spider-Man straining to web the bridge and subway train together in a Christ pose were two of the best parts of Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man movies.

It’s still over half a year before Spider-Man: Homecoming is released on July 7th, so we’ll have a lot of time to keep pouring over these trailers.
So will our dear Spider-Man really touch the skies and fly now?
This latest Spidey iteration focuses on Parker’s relationship with Tony Stark (I’m sensing a Batman and Robin dynamic). Charming, a good sense of humor and strong chemistry with Robert Downey Jr., he makes for a fantastic Peter Parker. He also appears in a battle scene, and, as evidenced in the Captain America trailer, he can hold is own. That being said, as long as they can steer clear of Spider-Man 3, I think things will be okay. “I actually felt comfortable and had nothing to worry about”. It was shot mostly from Peter Parker’s (Spider-Man) point of view, but also showed Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) pointing out a case with a higher-tech outfit than the one Parker has been wearing. Last night, we got our first look of what they’ve come up with.
Listen I know school sucks. You know, that’s a real Harry Potter-esque trio of folks right there, plus Liz. But you’re not ready yet. That’s the insane experience Peter Parker went through in Captain America: Civil War, and in his solo film Spider-Man: Homecoming, he’ll experience the same downer mood fans go through after a weekend at Comic-Con.

The film was directed by Jon Watts from a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, with Michael Giacchino providing the score.
