Petey Pablo Reveals How He Landed “Empire” Role
On this week’s episode of Empire, Pablo played Clyde, backing up Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) in his #FreeLucious concert. But instead of forcing Pablo to pay him, Howard invited him to Empire to make a cameo.

Pablo – realizing Howard needed a few cash – loaned Howard $200 out of his own pocket.
But it’s not the first time they’ve collaborated: His music was featured in 2004’s Hustle & Flow, which starred Howard.
So far, Pablo wrote and produced four tracks for Howard’s character. The North Carolina rapper appeared on the show as part of repayment of a $200 dollar debt from a decade ago, and he was instrumental in bringing a few gritty musical edge to the show.

Taraji’s rep insists that she and Terrence “are the best of friends and professional colleagues … always”. Pablo also playfully quipped that he hopes to have a few more scenes to shoot for Empire. Apparently, Howard never got around to paying Pablo, so he repaid the debt 10 years later… but did so with interest “to the tune of $15,000”.
