Petition to change Australian currency to ‘Dollarydoos’ gets 10000 signatures
So much so that he’s started a petition on the Change.org website to help his country out, by changing the name of the currency to “Dollarydoos” – as featured in the classic “Bart vs Australia” episode of the show.

Australia’s currency might soon be changing faster than you can say, “Oh my God!”
If they manage to get it through somehow, there is only one choice for the quote that should be written across the currency: “There’s nothing wrong with the bidet, is there?”
“Due to global commodity prices plummeting, the Australian economy is struggling”, reads the petition by one Thomas Probst, addressed to Shadow Minister for Communications & Broadband Malcolm Turnbull (a former title of Australia’s current Prime Minister) and three other lawmakers.
The episode was called “Bart vs. Australia”, and the father of an Australian boy freaked out over his son’s collect call from someone in the United States of America that ended up costing him “900 Dollarydoos”.
If the 15,000 signatories on the petition get their way and Australians adopt the dollarydoo, it could set a precedent for The Simpsons intruding even more into what we’re forced to think of as the “real” Australian world. As it stands, the petition has yet to receive any support from Australian political parties, however Nine Australia have contacted the Australian Treasurer, Scott Morrison, for comment on the matter.
Another singer added: “Dollarydoos is the most flawless possible name for Australia’s currency” – and another admitted: ‘I already refer to our currency as Dollarydoos’.
