Petra Kvitova Picks Up Her First Victory In Singapore Over — WTA Finals
Kerber would have felt the sting of the 46-year-old Graf’s famous forehand in practice but Muguruza, 22, inspires a few fear with her own artillery. I think she’s going to play very aggressively, going for the shots and having good serves.

Kvitova extended her winning streak over Safarova, who was defeated in their previous seven matches; the last in August in New Haven in the United States, reports Efe.
“Well, I prefer playing with Petra”, the 28-year-old Safarova joked after seeing her semi-final hopes in Singapore fade.
“Before the match we have the same locker room and we were just chatting normally, not like we go to play each other soon”, the world number five said.
Garbine Muguruza made it two wins from two in the WTA Finals after securing a straight-sets victory over Angelique Kerber on Wednesday.
The left-handers took to the court in identical outfits and were also nearly impossible to separate on the scoreboard until Kvitova ramped up the pressure to break in the 12th game of both sets to improve to 8-0 against Safarova.
The Spaniard needed just one hour and 38 minutes to dispose of her German opponent 6-4 6-4 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and the victory moved her two points clear at the top of the White Group. She’s also the first Spanish woman to reach a Grand Slam final since Conchita Martinez did so at Roland Garros in 2000, and the first to appear in the Wimbledon finals since Sanchez-Vicario’s back-to-back showing in 1995 and ’96.
“I’m really motivated to be here”.
Relying on her strong legs and accurate counter-strikes, Kerber came back with a three-game run.
The only thing gentle about Garbine Muguruza is her smile. A backhand victor down the line gave Muguruza triple break point.
Consistency is Kerber’s strength.
“It’s going to be about the returns and serves”. Safarova almost had a chance to regain her break lead with break points in the seventh game but could not convert.
Constant pressure finally paid off for Muguruza, who converted her sixth break point of the set for a 3-2 lead. Following a scoring snafu in which chair umpire Marija Cicak mistakenly called the seventh game for Muguruza, Kerber held then broke back with a forehand victor for 4-all.

Attacking net three times in a row, Muguruza drew an errant pass breaking for 5-4. There is only one way she can advance.
