Peugeot 5008 SUV revealed
There’s no doubt that Peugeot’s new 5008 is an SUV, with its raised beltline and long horizontal hood.

Second-generation 5008 adopts SUV body style, Australian introduction expected for mid-2017.
Inside, the 5008 features the latest version of Peugeot’s “i-Cockpit” that is already familiar from the 308 and 2008 ranges.
What hasn’t changed over the old 5008 is that this new model is a seven-seater, and it’s nearly exactly the same length as the Nissan X-Trail, which will be one of the Peugeot’s biggest rivals.
The 2.0-liter BlueHDI can deliver 150 hp or 180 hp in the flagship 5008 GT version, and manufacturing starts in Rennes, France, while also being displayed for the public during the Paris Motor Show. (4,640-mm) overall length the new 5008 is just 4.3 ins. Meanwhile, below is the new 3008, unveiled in May this year.
Peugeot makes the switch to SUV for seven-seater.
Though its exterior shape might have changed drastically, the 5008 SUV adopts the same convenient seating arrangement of its predecessor, with the second row featuring three individually adjustable seats. Peugeot states that in a five-seat configuration the carry capacity is of a best-in-class 1,065-liter (37.6 cubic feet). It also showcases some clever tech like Mirror Screen and 3D-connected sat-nav, a digital dash, FOCAL stereo (for some variants), and two completely removable seats for the third row with up to 1060 litres of cargo capacity. Its futuristically-styled minimalist design wraps around the driver, with a high-mounted 12.3-inch high-resolution instrument cluster and a tablet-like 8-inch centre touchscreen infotainment system being the centrepieces of the cabin.
In addition the 5008 can be specified with a foldable front passenger seat to allow owners to transport especially long loads up to 3.20m and a practical hands-free, motorised tailgate.
In addition, the auto will also be available with a variety of safety-related and driver-assistance systems.
A range of powerful and efficient petrol and diesel engines and trim levels – including sporty GT Line and GT versions – will be available when it goes on sale next Spring.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the 5008 is that it was created to accommodate an electrically-assisted portable bicycle known as e-Bike eF01.

The new Peugeot 5008 looks very promising, but if you want one now you’re out of luck – it won’t be in your local UK Peugeot dealers until Spring 2017.
