PewDiePie launching his own video network called Revelmode

Maker Studios is teaming up with its star YouTube creator Felix Kjellberg, a.k.a. PewDiePie, to create a new network.

Called Revelmode, the network will feature the online celebrity (real name Felix Kjellberg) among other YouTubers to offer new shows, games, merchandise and commercial partnerships. He uploads videos of him playing games, commenting and other amusing stuff.

He will be joined by CinnamonToastKen aka Ken Morrison, Dodger aka Brooke Lawson, EmmaBlackery aka Emma Blackery, JackSepticEye aka Sean McLoughlin, Jelly aka Jelle van Vucht, Kwebbelkop aka Jordi van den Bussche, Markiplier aka Mark Fischbach, and his girlfriend CutiePieMarzia aka Marzia Bisognin.

The video games fanatic has more than 41 million subscribers on the video site – making his the biggest channel in existence – but is now branching out to build an entire network of content with a select group of other vloggers.

“Revelmode is me and a bunch of really awesome YouTubers coming together as a group to do awesome things”, Pewds explained. The company also operates Maker.tv, created to drive premium video distribution and viewership.

Revelmode’s first content initiative will be an animated series featuring the squad of talent participating in the network.

“I have seen many challenges and successes in growing a brand and authentically communicating with an audience, and wanted to take what I’ve learned and create something unique”, said Kjellberg.

Revelmode is a curated talent network united in its passion for gaming and pop culture.

Revelmode, which will focus on content, community and charity, will include a roster of hand picked talent whose “voice and aesthetic” align with the brand, which is driven by Kjellberg’s own experiences and ideas. I’m eager to get it all up and running.

16 months on, he’s doing that within Maker Studios rather than outside it: the YouTube equivalent of a music label giving an artist their own imprint to sign bands they like, or a broadcaster striking a development deal with a star actor’s production company.
