Peyton Manning breaks NFL all-time passing yard record

There are rumors that the Denver Broncos could be turning to Brock Osweiler on a full-time basis, as the team was reportedly close to moving on from Manning this summer when he was considering retirement.

Returning from their bye week, the Kansas City Chiefs (3-5) will take on the Denver Broncos (7-1) in week 10. “Maybe that was a false feeling or wrong feeling”, Manning said via Jhabvala. The problem this week is that the Broncos’ biggest weakness has been their offensive line that has suffered numerous injuries and can’t create holes or protect Peyton Manning.

“He’s still a great quarterback – just not what he used to be”, Kansas City linebacker Derrick Johnson said. Manning has three interceptions, 30 yards passing, and has completed only four of 15 attempts.

The win helped the 5-4 Bills move up into the Wild Card Playoff picture, and set alarm bells ringing in NY.

Manning entered the day with 71,836 yards through the air, 2 shy of Favre’s record and tied with Favre with 186 wins. “I probably should have made the decision not to play him in the game”, Kubiak said.

He came in Saturday and his ribs were bothering him a little bit.

“He’s a competitor. He wanted to play….”

Kubiak also said in his postgame news conference that Manning will remain the team’s starter so long as he’s healthy. KC QB Alex Smith is more of a game manager who should struggle against this tough Denver D. The Chiefs can also pressure the QB, and Peyton Manning is clearly showing signs of age and injury.

“To be honest with you”, Abdullah said, “even with all the losses, just trusting the process, trusting Coach (Andy) Reid, trusting (defensive coordinator) Coach (Bob) Sutton all of our coaches”. “Guys knew coming in here, we were confident and ready to go”. Ironically, that means that his likely final pass in Indy was completed to a Colt, but it prevented him from setting the record there. He threw nearly as many passes to the opposing Kansas City Chiefs, totaling four interceptions before he was benched in the third quarter.

Minnesota squandered chances to build a two-score lead as Blair Walsh missed a 53-yard field goal at the end of the first half to snap a streak of 17 straight makes and then had a 39-yarder blocked by Keith McGill early in the fourth to keep the score at 20-14.

Safety Eric Berry recorded his second interception of the season off of Osweiler in the fourth quarter.

His performance, however, meant he could not add another record to the list.

The game was halted after Manning’s milestone throw, and Joe Horrigan from the Pro Football Hall of Fame secured the ball.

“I actually haven’t gone back and watched it yet, but I don’t even worry about that play”, Roby said. I believed in this team at the start of the season, and I still believe in this team. The Broncos haven’t been shut out since the Raiders held them scoreless on November 22, 1992….

Osweiler, a 24-year-old who was a 2012 second-round draft pick out of Arizona State, saw his first action of the season and led Denver to all of its 13 points.
