Peyton Manning cleared by National Football League in PED investigation
After a seven-month investigation the NFL announced Monday it found “no credible evidence Peyton Manning was provided with or used human-growth hormone or other substances banned by the league”.

In its documentary, released in December, Al-Jazeera used former British sprinter Liam Collins to go undercover to try to expose PED use by athletes.
An NFL investigation into a report that Peyton Manning received performance-enhancing drugs “found no credible evidence” of wrongdoing, the league said in a statement Monday.
In the report, a pharmacist recorded with a hidden camera said Manning received human growth hormone from an Indianapolis anti-aging clinic to help him recover from the neck injury that caused him to miss the 2011 National Football League season. Sly later recanted his allegations.
Manning issued a strong denial of the allegations made by the report and never backed down from his stance.
The NFL has apparently cleared Peyton Manning. Manning won two Super Bowl titles and was named NFL MVP five times.
As previously reported, each of the players listed above have already sent written and signed affidavits to the NFL with the thinking that was sufficient for the league’s investigation and the NFLPA has backed them in that process.
The league is continuing its investigation into Matthews, Peppers, Harrison and Neal.
The accusations against Manning were also particularly hazy.
In a controversial report from Al-Jazeera America a year ago, the former Broncos quarterback was accused of having human growth hormone shipped to his house.
The documentary alleged that performance-enhancing drugs were shipped to Manning’s residence while he was recovering from a career-threatening neck injury. He said he had used a hyperbaric chamber there to speed his recovery. Manning slammed the report while also defending his wife’s medical privacy.
Left unsaid in that statement is whether the union would have preferred that Manning refuse to cooperate with the NFL’s investigation, in solidarity with the union that represented him until he retired this offseason. “Never. I really can’t believe somebody would put something like this on the air. Whoever said this is making stuff up”.

However, the pharmacist who made the claims against Manning, Charlie Sly, nearly immediately retracted them. He called the allegations “simply not true”. Riley and Sly are former business partners.
