Peyton Manning has cast removed

“Any timetable reported prior to that final determination would be speculative”.

Manning isn’t close to being healthy. Kubiak addressed that report today. “You are or you aren’t”.

Osweiler has been sacked 11 times in 10 quarters since replacing Manning in the third period against Kansa City three weeks ago. He has since visited a foot specialist in Charlotte, N.C., who recommended he wear a walking cast for more than a week. And so, with five games left, the Giants and Redskins are both 5-6, sharing first place in their downright mediocre division.

The cast removal means Manning can now start rehabbing, but the quarterback said on Wednesday that he is week-to-week.

It’s ironic to think that Peyton Manning’s second Super Bowl ring, one that has eluded him for so long, might come with him standing on the sidelines, yet that is the reality we are now living in.

“I’d been having some symptoms that I’ve been dealing with”, he said. “You can take it off to shower; that’s probably the biggest difference”.

The boot will be removed around 5:30 p.m. Friday. He did not yet know whether he would travel to San Diego with the team for Sunday’s game.

Manning said “it’s obviously hard not being out there”, but he’s proud of the way his longtime backup is playing. “Being a competitor, always being able to play, you certainly want to be out there”. “I’ve calmed down a little bit and we’ve moved on from that game because we are facing a great opponent this week in the Eagles”. “But just running with that nastiness and that strength and just trying to be powerful every time I run the ball, that’s what I’m talking about doing”. “I have a lot of respect for the players who take the field”.

No one really knows when it’s time to replace a legend, but Denver will have to answer that question when Peyton is healthy.

Quarterbacks coach Greg Knapp “has got his hands full”, Kubiak said. “Try to help wherever I can”. The Patriots and the Gronkowski family issued a joint statement Tuesday afternoon regarding the knee injury he suffered during the Patriots’ first loss of the season on Sunday night in Denver.

Manning said he’s proud of Osweiler’s play and happy for his teammates. “Brock, I’m proud for the way he’s played, happy for the way he’s played”.

“We’re totally committed to getting (Manning) back….” He said I have an injured foot.

“Yeah, real concerned”, coach Gary Kubiak acknowledged this week. I’m following his instructions.

“I’d love for it [the foot] to be healthy yesterday, I can assure you”. I can assure you. This cast is kind of like a holding pattern. On Wednesday, Manning addressed those reports.
