Peyton Manning is no longer a top five quarterback
With Manning having struggled in his first game back under the dome in Indianapolis, I am sure he’d like nothing more than to secure two all-time records under the bright lights of those fans and under the gaze of Colt’s owner Jim Irsay.

Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time. The Broncos remained undefeated by embarrassing the Packers by a score of 29-10 on Sunday night. It confirmed that the Denver defense could look historically dominant even against the top-shelf quarterbacks. Manning still has half the season to rectify this troubling problem, much like Drew Brees has started to do after his game from out of nowhere yesterday, but at this point in the season, Manning is no longer a top five quarterback. But that’s why the story of the 2015 Denver Broncos became an awkward one, even as they kept winning: Because there’s something a little discomfiting about watching a man like this suffer to endure. The Broncos, on the other hand, have been paced by their intimidating defense, which held Aaron Rodgers to 76 yards passing on Sunday. The rest of this column will be spent looking at what we’ve learned over the last eight weeks, with a few random awards presented to the deserving few. The only question is whether Manning can avoid the hit that turns him into Y.A. Tittle; the only question is whether he can keep getting up every Sunday, time and again.
Two of the three unbeaten National Football League teams left in the AFC will face tough road tests in Week 9, while the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots (7-0) are the biggest favorites on the betting board.

“I actually believe the Bengals, as a team, are the biggest threat to them”, said Koppen. I guess the point is that any doubts we have about Peyton Manning have nothing to do with his ability to prove us wrong; any doubts we have about Peyton Manning have more to do with our fear that his body won’t let him prove us wrong.
