Peyton Manning to Rams doesn’t make much sense for either side
The Rams are desperate to make a splash in Los Angeles.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday afternoon that the Los Angeles Rams have discussed acquiring Peyton Manning. Manning does have another year on his Denver contract, but the ESPN.com story does state “most around the league do not expect (Manning) to return to Denver next season, if he returns at all”.
Manning has reportedly already told his close friends that Super Bowl 50 will be his last game, but has yet to announce anything publicly. But, if the Panthers do beat the Broncos, finishing his career in the Los Angeles limelight seems like a ideal fit for the part-time quarterback, part-time TV commercial star.
Super Bowl 50 is still a few days away, but the insane rumor season is already developing some legs. The Denver Broncos quarterback has acknowledged he is thinking about retirement, but if he decides he wants to play in 2016, at least one team could be interested. But they are monitoring the Manning situation, per a source, which is a sign that the Broncos quarterback could have options next season.
The Rams haven’t had a quarterback under Jeff Fisher. They’re expected to add a veteran to the position, and perhaps also draft one, even after re-acquiring Case Keenum, trading for Nick Foles and drafting Sean Manning in the third round a year ago.
In recent seasons with the Broncos, he has also dealt with ankle, foot and rib injuries.

David Zalubowski/APJordan Taylor.Peyton Manning credits Jordan Taylor, a 23-year-old practice-squad receiver who doesn’t have a single catch in the National Football League, for getting him through the season. Foles started 11 games and threw for 2,052 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions for a passer rating of 69.0. Manning will need both of those things if he continues playing in 2016.
