Immediately after leading the Denver Broncos to a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers, Manning told a CBS sideline reporter that his post-game plan was to “drink a lot of Budweiser”.

The crowd became unruly at times, but officers for the most part watched from the sidewalk. His play was a detriment to the team, and his 13 completions on 23 attempts for 141 yards and two turnovers was one of the worst Super Bowl performances by any winning quarterback.
Now that the game is over, much of the conversation about it will revolve around the two quarterbacks.

While Miller seemed like the obvious choice for MVP, it often seemed like multiple players could have taken home the award, and not just someone posting big stats.
Point being, cracking a smile would not have jinxed the Broncos-they still had Miller on their side, after all. Once again, he got around Remmers and knocked the ball out of Newton’s hands. “That’s why we’re here where we are today, and it’s great to be with all these great fans”, Manning said. “Better than anybody’s ever done it”.
He’s more valuable to the Broncos because he knows their system, has been through a Super Bowl run with them, and, no small thing, was under Manning’s wing for four years. Tight end Greg Olsen, linebackers Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis also got new deals past year. “To do that to the guy that’s changing the game, unbelievable”.

Give Newton credit: he’s standing by who he is.
In 16 starts during the regular season, Newton completed 296 passes for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. “You show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser”, Newton said. “We had our opportunities and it was nothing special that they did”.
