Peyton Manning will not be the quarterback of the Denver Broncos when the team plays the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday. But now that we know more about what is injured, it is wonderful that he played at all and we have to wonder when he will play again. There will be quarters and halfs and maybe even games when Manning is the old Manning.

CHIEFS ARE IN IT: There are seven teams within two games of the last wildcard spot, and the Chiefs are in that crowd.

But for anyone to match that number, they’ll have earned it. And put up production that’s thus far been unprecedented. After an MRI on his rib cage Monday, Manning will receive what he called a week of “active rest”, and then will have his status re-evaluated on November 23, six days before the Broncos face the New England Patriots. “They were able to keep the pressure on”. “There wasn’t a ton of film when playing them in Week 2”, said Smith. “There’s that unknown there, especially on a short week”. We had a great week of practice. Knile was just doing the (kick) returning, and we felt 13 (De’Anthony Thomas) could do that, too.
So, Osweiler’s first National Football League start will come on his 25th birthday.

Offensively, the Broncos have to stay on Alshon Jeffery and stop him at all costs.
