Third-round play at the PGA Championship was suspended for the day Saturday because of steady rain that fell throughout the afternoon at Baltusrol Golf Club.

Walker and Streb matched the lowest 36-hole score in PGA Championship history, with Streb becoming the 28th player in history to shoot a record-low 63 in a major Friday.
They will resume the third round bright and early at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday. If not, the tournament could conclude during the week.
Hideki Matsuyama and Harris English – who sit five shots back from leading duo Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb – finally got going at 7am local time (12pm BST) on Sunday. Kevin Kisner and Padraig Harrington, a three-time major champion including the 2008 PGA, posted the lowest rounds of the day at 65 to move to 5 under and 4 under par, respectively. “It will add to the excitement, actually”.
Five-times major victor Mickelson, whose birdie putt for the elusive 62 at Royal Troon veered away from the cup at the last instant, bogeyed the first on Saturday, two strokes better than his self-described “horrendous” start on Friday, but came back with four birdies in posting his two-under 68.
“I just think the course is playing to where you can fly six, seven or eight irons at the hole.it’s going to stop right there”. “When we get out, we get out, and just try to take advantage when you can”.
The 37-year-old Texan, a five-time victor on the PGA Tour, was trying to make it a 2016 sweep for first-time major winners including Masters victor Danny Willett, American Dustin Johnson at the U.S. Open and Stenson in the British Open. Im pretty sure I cant get to 20. Leishman has to return at 7 a.m. for that putt, and then wait two hours to start his final round. Both of them were among the 10 golfers who never hit a shot. He shot a 68 on Saturday and was at 1-under 209, and he predicted far lower scores to come.
“I think that major record of 63 will be broken (before the tournament ends)”, Mickelson said. Only 37 players finished their third round, leaving more than half the field to finish round 3 Sunday.
“Keep it in the fairway, you can attack”. “Greens are pristine. You can make a lot of putts”.
Daniel Summerhays was third at 10 under after a 66 while there was a three-way tie for fourth at 9 under.
He said with the greens being so receptive and with a lack of wind “there’s a 61 or a 62 out there for the taking”.

Haigh decided against using threesomes off two tees early Saturday to complete the third round before the storms because the same forecast produced only a minor stoppage Friday, and he wants everyone off the first tee on the weekend.
