PH telcos release advisories on Galaxy Note 7 recall
Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 7 with a discounted price on the new Gear VR headset on pre-orders. Dornacher planned to get back in the jeep with his wife Lydia, their 8-year-old daughter, and family’s service dog to continue running errands after the dropping off the desk.

Samsung’s exploding Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, recently the subject of a recall, is now considered a flight risk.
A Florida man claims that his cell phone is to blame after his Jeep Grand Cherokee exploded into a fireball on Monday.
“Not the barbecue I wanted on my day off”, Dornacher wrote on Facebook.
Firefighters quickly responded and were able to put the flames out, but not before the vehicle’s interior was irreversibly damaged, according to Lt. Steve Lawrence, public information officer for St. Petersburg Fire Rescue. Enough for Samsung to issue a full recall of all units out there – both in shops and in users’ hands!
I asked an FAA spokesperson whether this was the final word on whether the Samsung phones would be banned from flights in the future.
After getting through to the company, Dornacher said that he will no longer be getting a lawyer and that he only hopes people will take the recall seriously.
South Korea said Thursday it has no plan to ban the use of Samsung Electronics Co.’s Galaxy Note 7 on planes following the company’s global recall of the smartphones for battery problems.

Unfortunately, Dornacher’s case is not the only instance of the Note 7 exploding or catching on fire, but hopefully it will be the last. Turns out the hyper-powered has a few batches built with faulty batteries inside.
