It’s official! Kanye West is CONFIRMED to perform at the 2015 VMAs.

The All Day rapper is familiar with the award, having given it to his friend and long-time collaborator Hype Williams in 2006 for his achievements as a “film maker”. From his first appearance onstage in 2004 to that time he didn’t let Taylor Swift finish, West has no doubt been responsible for some of the show’s most memorable moments.

The Weeknd, Demi Lovato, Pharrell, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Tori Kelly, Kanye West, Twenty One Pilots and A$AP Rocky will all be performing at this year’s MYV VMAs.

With MTV’s Video Movie Awards on an ever quest for ratings, as it is a tentpole event for the network, Taylor Swift presenting is not beyond the realm of requests.

The VMAs will air Sunday, August 30 at 9:00 p.m on MTV.

What do you think of the latest performers added to the VMA lineup? The prestigious award will honor West’s music and videos, and his impact on fashion, art and MTV culture. It also noted his VMA performances with T-Pain, Jamie Foxx and Chaka Khan. Past recipients of the Vanguard Award had been all out in their performances when they received the honor.

Henson told US site TheBlaze that the choice of host, the performers who are slated to appear on stage and the show’s promotions demonstrate that young audiences are a sought-after demographic for the Video Music Awards. Other artists in recent years to win the award are Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
