Phelan cautious over Hull job chances
City recorded their first league win of the season on Saturday as they ran out 2-1 winners over Accrington Stanley and Tisdale has been boosted by a number of players returning to fitness over the past week.

Without a full-time manager and with a threadbare squad of just 13 fit senior players, the Tigers had been written off as relegation certainties.
“It’s a long way home from Swansea, but I’m sure travelling back by auto or bus celebrating a victory is the best way home”.
“Everyone is writing us off”.
“The difficulty to come here was to see if we could go after them or contain them”.
“We’ve discussed players. We’ve put things to the current owners”.
“We’re all good players”.
“This start is probably unexpected for people outside of our dressing room but it’s not unexpected for us within it”.
Fernando Llorente also missed a great chance for the hosts, sending a free header well wide of the near post and Hull began to grow in confidence.
And Hernandez sealed the win when teed up by Maloney at the end of a flowing stoppage-time move.
“But all I can do is win football matches and at this moment in time that’s what we are doing”. Until Maloney’s goal it looked as if the main talking point would be Stuart Attwell turning down three penalty claims in the first half – two from Swansea and one for Hull.
‘We felt that we needed to respect Swansea from the point of view that they’re an established Premier League club and they play football in the right way by moving the ball around well.
“We have to improve at set-pieces”, said Guidolin. “We do work hard on them”.
As they secured their first top-flight away victory since winning at Crystal Palace in April 2015, the fans sang “we want Phelan in”.

“It bodes well for some progress – it’s very early days, we’re still in August and we probably won’t get a real feel for where we sit in the league strength-wise until probably a quarter of the way through”.
