Phelps, Lochte face off in individual medley finals

As expected, Twitter was full of Phelps plaudits and people just losing their minds over just how dominant a swim that was.
And while Phelps is undefeated in the Olympic 200 IM, he is not undefeated in the 200 IM altogether.
This time, she was limited to a single gold, which came for swimming the preliminaries of the 4×200 freestyle relay.
Phelps finished a full body-length ahead of the field on the breaststroke and freestyle legs, finishing in 1 minute, 54.66 seconds. – Men’s volleyball Group A, Brazil vs. U.S.
Gold medalist Ryan Murphy poses during the medal ceremony for the Men’s 100m Backstroke Final on Day 3 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Coming to Rio as a heavy favorite, Biles has excelled under the pressure and the spotlight. He won silver in 2004 and 2012 and bronze in 2008.
Ryan Murphy, of Palos Heights, set an Olympic record and won the United States’ third swimming gold medal in Rio by taking the 100-meter backstroke Monday in 51.97 seconds. “The 200 back is an event I really have to dig deep for, so this one means a little bit more to me”.
Phelps became the third Olympian to win the same individual event at four straight Games, joining discus thrower Al Oerter and Carl Lewis in the long jump in achieving the feat.
Japan’s Kosuke Hagino won the silver medal behind Phelps in a time of 1:56.61 also won the gold in the 400m IM earlier in the week. He started off this meet strong, with a win in the 400 IM, and will pose a threat to both, maybe the biggest threat they’ve had over the last decade.
The 32-year-old Lochte has had a storied career.
