The suspension will start Wednesday against the Knicks as the Sixers look to start a new streak – a winning one.

The Sixers issued the following press release about the situation.

“Henderson said.”Jahlil is a very important part of our organization and our future”.

This is another unflattering report involving Okafor, who was involved in an altercation outside of a Boston nightclub early Thursday morning after the 76ers lost to the Celtics 84-80 at TD Garden. Okafor, 19, allegedly tried to use a fake I.D.at Misconduct Tavern in Center City, per CSN Philly.

Sixers rookie Jahlil Okafor has found himself in a media firestorm lately after a string of troubling offcourt incidences became public.

Okafor, the number three overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Duke, was most recently involved in a fight outside a Boston nightclub last week and was found driving recklessly on a bridge. “Nobody’s proud of this right now and so we will support him, he’s ours and we will move on”.

Okafor said he reacted to heckling about the 0-16 Sixers, the only team in the National Basketball Association without a win.

His season (not his team’s) has been solid thus far, but that’s unlikely to matter if he continues to listen to people trying to agitate him and/or slams into something, or someone, doing 108. On Sunday, Okafor apologized for his recent transgressions.

“This is not something that we dismiss”, Brown said. You’re coaching a bunch of 20-year-olds, and so I don’t feel like we are reactive. I think the guy was just talking shit.

“Jahlil works extremely hard and is a great teammate in the environment that I see him the most”, Brown said.

But in order for the extreme makeover plan of rebuilding the franchise to work, it has to be constructed on a solid foundation and that’s where the recent escapades of 19-year-old rookie Jahlil Okafor put everything on shaky ground. I saw him a minute after he knocked the dude out. The team has not commented on the story but ESPN reported that insiders confirmed that the team will honor the request.
