Philadelphia 76ers Rookie Jahlil Okafor In Fight Outside Boston Club, TMZ Reports

I think the guy was just talking s–. No police report was filed because the parties involved had left the scene before law enforcement arrived.

A man told police yesterday that he had been punched and pushed at about 2 a.m. Thursday outside the Storyville Nightclub by a man “believed to be Okafor”, police said.

The man said in the police report that Okafor and another man came toward his group and requested phone numbers from some of the women. When the women declined, a verbal and physical altercation ensued.

The alleged victim told police that he sustained a cut above the eye that required stitches after being struck in the face with a closed first. No charges have been filed at this time.

This is a change from earlier reports Friday, which said the Boston police wasn’t planning on investigating the incident.

Okafor, 19, addressed the Boston incident with the media on Friday.

Okafor said the embarrassment is the toughest part about the situation. “It’s something that I am embarrassed about, (we’re) still dealing with the league and the team”. I’m not happy about it at all.

TMZ posted cellphone video of the altercation on Thursday showing Okafor yelling and later shoving a man outside the club. Eventually, however, the victim said Okafor broke free and began pushing and punching him, knocking him to the ground.

After yesterday’s viral video of Jahlil Okafor fighting with fans in Boston, I wondered whether or not the disastrous start of this season could possibly get worse.

“I know that there are people like that that try to anger you”. I did the dumb thing and reacted to it. I’ll never handle it like that again.
