Philadelphia Eagles Can Survive With Mark Sanchez At Quarterback

Nov 15, 2015; Philadelphia, PA, US; Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford (7) rolls out of the pocket against the Miami Dolphins during the first quarter at Lincoln Financial Field. And if Bradford can’t go this Sunday, the team is prepared for Sanchez to run the offense at a quick tempo against Tampa Bay.

After tackling a couple of throwaway questions at his day-after presser, Kelly predictably declined comment on Bradford.

“I don’t have any information”, Kelly said. But I didn’t meet with the trainers, and won’t until after this. That’s the thing we’ll deal with. “Again, we’ll meet with [the trainers] after this, after today, so probably around two or two thirty”.

The Eagles will start quarterback Mark Sanchez, who will need to step up as Philadelphia is in a tight race in the NFC East. Sanchez struggled in relief for Bradford throwing for 156 yards on 23 passing attempts with an interception. He played 58 snaps.

-PASS DEFENSE: C. Miami had four sacks and strong safety Reshad Jones had an interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter to help preserve the victory. Should Bradford miss it, Sanchez will start, Kelly indicated.

“The throw he made to Zach Ertz on the big play on the over route where he avoided the rush, stepped up in the pocket, was a good play”. “That was a simple naked play that was off of a run play that they defended earlier”.

The postgame injury update on Bradford came with good news and bad. X-rays were negative on the shoulder, but the Eagles also said Bradford suffered a concussion.

Shurmur said there was nothing wrong with the play call when Sanchez threw the interception.

“I am confident in Mark”, Kelly said. The Birds’ No. 3 quarterback is Thad Lewis, who has had seven games of National Football League experience with Cleveland and Buffalo.

Partially due to Ryan Mathews halftime exit with a concussion, partially due to the Eagles makeshift offensive line, tackle Lane Johnson knows what the main problem was Sunday.

You can blame Sanchez for the collapse of the Eagles towards the end of the season a year ago, but it’s not like the abysmal secondary lead by Cary Williams, Bradley Fletcher and Nate Allen did the Eagles any favors either.

Dorenbos will keep the job, per Kelly.

“It’s great for us to pat ourselves on the back right this second”, Suh said. “That play in itself, Mark was on a roll and he was grooving and we were moving the football”.

“It was a insane game that went back and forth, but we made the plays when we had to make them”, said Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who smiled as he added “even if those plays weren’t exactly how we drew them up”.

The Eagles are down 20-19 with 4:32 remaining in the game, facing a 2nd-and-goal from their opponent’s nine-yard line. “I thought that really changed the momentum and kept guys in it and we just kept fighting”.

If you still have faith in Sanchez, I’ve got nothing for you. Of course. But the point was, ‘Just get in and win the game.’ And unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
