Philadelphia Eagles discovering running attack

We’re just gonna go run those plays on Sunday.

Miami has gotten off to slow starts in their previous two games. Barwin has a relentless motor and will look to build on his 3.0 sacks on the season.

It’s not a good sign when a team fires their coach less than two months into a season.

Running back Lamar Miller #26 of the Miami Dolphins carries the ball during a National Football League game against the Houston Texas at Sun Life Stadium on October 25, 2015 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

While the Eagles defense doesn’t have a ton of sacks this season, the team still has players like Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham that could make Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s day very long on Sunday. Individually, both LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams hit the 100-yard mark against the Dolphins in Buffalo’s 33-17 victory.

Key Eagles Storyline: Whither the Run Defense? They surrendered 266 rushing yards last week to Buffalo, including two 100-yard rushers. Much has been made over whether or not he is “the guy” for Chip Kelly and company.

Is this the week that Miami figures out how to stop the run? 500 while the Dolphins (3-5) have suffered consecutive defeats to New England and Buffalo in which they looked largely outmatched. It was bad enough that they beat the Eagles, but even worse, they’ve managed to avoid becoming a laughingstock. Although he was inactive for one game and hasn’t been overly impressive, he gets the edge over cornerback Bobby McCain, the fifth-round pick from Memphis who made two starts at the nickel defensive back position. However, Billy Davis’ defense has only given up three rushing touchdowns all season.

The Eagles rewarded my optimism last week, and came through with a big win. The rookie linebacker and Malcolm Jenkins are the team’s leading tacklers. DeMeco Ryans is returning to the field this week, so that’s a bonus for Philadelphia. Once that happens, it will simplify the game plan for Davis, and his pass-rushers can get after Ryan Tannehill.

This season has been a roller-coaster ride for Matthews in his second year in the NFL.

PREDICTION: The Dolphins have struggled when falling behind early, while the Eagles have been outscored 81-67 in the first half.

But last week he put forth his best effort of the season. Murray will rush for at least 125 yards and two touchdowns and be the workhorse for the Philadelphia offense. “There is a lot more confidence. I don’t think that’s ideal though”. “In the pocket, he’s calm in the pocket, he’s not nervous in the pocket, and he throws the ball downfield well”. “That’s why we continue to play him”. The Eagles top target is Jordan Matthews who will likely be covered by Brent Grimes. He’s coming off a good performance. He kept it to himself partly because of the importance of the game.

“Uh, me. I messed up”.

When the Eagles kick, they can be more confident in Caleb Sturgis. Now that he is winning games, Kelly hinted that the quarterback will be sticking around the franchise.

Unlike last week, the Eagles should take a few shots down the field. With a favorable matchup on the ground, Philadelphia will force Miami’s safeties to creep up into box.

“They like to come downhill, they keep it between the tackles most of time, which I’m excited about because it gives me opportunities to get after their offensive line and running backs”, Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh said.

“My mom and my family, they would get my friends to vote, but nothing really materialized from it”, he said. The rookies, especially the draftees, haven’t done much on either side of the ball.

FAST FACTS: The Dolphins play five of their final eight games at home. It’s unclear of Parker, a first-round pick from Louisville, will be able to play Sunday at Philadelphia.

Interceptions aren’t his only problem though, as he’s already got five fumbles to his name so far this season. Tannehill was suddenly under consistent pressure.
