Philadelphia Eagles Might be Running out of Patience With Chip Kelly

They have another opportunity to take advantage of a home game when they host Tampa Bay Sunday morning (no local broadcast, DirecTV Sunday Ticket, 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET).

“There’s a team up in New England that throws the ball inside a lot and nobody is probably asking about why they don’t throw it outside”, he said.

On Monday, coach Lovie Smith addressed Martin’s possible free agency and said that the Bucs will make holding onto their 2012 first-round pick a priority.

The Philadelphia Eagles (4-5) are highly hoping to avoid losing streak and the professional American football franchise will possibly be entering the Week 11 run of the National Football League (NFL) regular season with to do its backup Mark Sanchez under center.

That they didn’t, that they got blown out 45-17 means a few things. The division is wretched, yes, and a win by the Birds would’ve put them atop the wretchedness with the Giants at 5-5.

Philadelphia is now 4-6 this season, tied for second in the NFC East, under Kelly, who was the head coach at OR from 2009-12.

Clearly, these are two teams heading in completely different directions. Do not expect Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to roll away next Sunday but then again, Andrew Luck and the Colts probably will not run away with it either.

The Eagles appear to be a team going nowhere.

“He was making checks at the line, and he was making some good calls”, Eagles linebacker Brandon Graham said.

Unless Bradford morphs into Tom Brady, the Eagles haven’t identified their quarterback of the future. Sanchez might be more efficient running Chip Kelly’s offense and he’s certainly more mobile than Bradford. He doesn’t have one. Actually, the game was pretty much over at halftime, when Tampa’s offense was virtually unstoppable in racing to a 28-14 lead. Winston torched the Eagles for five touchdowns without throwing an interception. “I think he’ll be coaching back in college, unless he can figure out a way to get to the Tennessee Titans, so he can coach (Marcus) Mariota”. “I always wanted to be an Eagle”. I’m just frustrated like they are about our performance on the field. “I told those guys: ‘You better have a short memory.’ Every single person in that room contributed to that loss”. “I’m just anxious to see what we can do the second half of the season”.

The Bucs’ offensive line has allowed just 17 sacks this year, ranked 7th in the NFL (though Football Outsiders’ adjusted sack rate ranks them 19th). “So you buy into Jameis Winston”.

The same cannot be said of Sanchez.

Where there is one, there are surely others. That was Marcus Smith, who has done zilch since being picked.

“What does Jameis need to get better at?” He had the Eagles’ best offensive play of the game, when he turned a screen pass into a 35-yard touchdown, but he only had two more receptions and just six carries, even though the Eagles played without one of their running backs, Ryan Mathews (concussion).
