The conventional wisdom on playing against rookie quarterbacks was always fairly simple, and even accurate: Blitz them, make them react while they’re still in the “thinking” stage of their National Football League lives and they’ll unravel under pressure. His second game against the Bears – a road game on Monday Night Football – figures to be a step up in degree-of-difficulty.

Since 1960, there have been only three rookie quarterbacks to throw for 275+ pass yards, 2+ pass touchdowns, and no interceptions in a season opener: Jim Kelly in 1986, Robert Griffin III in 2012 and Carson Wentz in 2016. “That’s what we did this year”.
