At Liverpool, he’s the key man in Brendan Rodgers’ side, and although he’s endured a patchy beginning to the Premier League season, he is a player who will benefit from being handed such responsibility in the Reds’ starting lineup.

Due to the speculation concerning Liverpool and Newcastle, De Boer was quizzed on the clubs, and he certainly admitted they fascinate him enough to be potential future management destinations.

Though with Liverpool and Newcastle the names mentioned you’d have to wonder if they classify as an adventure or a nightmare.

Rodgers is once again under the firing line after his struggling Reds failed to beat Swiss minnows FC Sion in the Europa League on Thursday night.

De Boer was one of the prime candidate for the job at Anfield back when Brendan Rodgers was chosen to take the managerial reign at Anfield by FSG. Whatever the intent behind de Boer’s comments, Liverpool’s manager desperately needs better performances and results to keep rumours at bay.
