Philippine President Duterte Lashes Out at European Union

In this video, a former Davao City militiaman testified before the country’s Senate on Thursday that President Rodrigo Duterte, when he was still a city mayor, ordered him and other members of a liquidation squad to kill criminals and opponents in gangland-style assaults that left about 1,000 dead.

“I will write them a letter to invite them to an investigation”, he said in a speech at the inauguration of a power plant in Misamis Oriental, located in the Northern Mindanao region.

Military officials said the annual maneuvers by about 1,400 USA military personnel and 500 Philippine marines will involve amphibious landing and live-fire exercises at a northern gunnery range from Oct 4 to 12.

On Monday, legislators voted 16 to 4 to unseat de Lima, after Duterte’s allies said the witness she brought before the investigatory panel last week had tarnished the country’s global image.

Describing the European Union as hypocrites, he said that a look at history books will reveal the atrocities that European Union member countries committed.

He singled out France and Britain for joining the United States in Middle Eastern wars, adding history books were replete with examples of slaughters committed by Europeans.

“And then the European Union has the gall to condemn me”, he said, flashing a raised middle finger as he spoke in front of local officials in Davao. “I repeat it – f*** you”, the seemingly enraged leader added, reinforcing his message with a middle finger he gave to the cheering audience. I’m telling them, ‘F**k you. “Criminals. You call that genocide”, he told officials in Davao.

Referring to “those who were killed with their hands tied”, he said it was the “handiwork of co-conspirators in the drug trade”. Why would you insult me, why would you curse at me as if I’m under you?

Duterte has also branded US President Barack Obama a “son of a whore” and Ban a “fool” after both expressed concern over the killings.

An angry Duterte then threatened to pull the Philippines out of the United Nations, but later said it was just a “joke”.

USA ambassador to the Philippines, Philip Goldberg, has been called a “gay son of a whore”, accused of meddling in the elections.

On Sunday, Duterte asked for a six-month extension for his war on drugs, saying there were too many people involved in the narcotics trade.
