Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, daughter of President Duterte, is pregnant with triplets.
“On this happy note, I would also like to share with you the news that I am pregnant and can not join you in merrymaking activities”, said 38-year-old Sara Duterte.
The 38-year-old mayor said she is on her seventh week.

She went back to work on July 28 amid the doctor’s advice to take bed rest.

While the triplets are in good health, she is nonetheless experiencing the challenges of pregnancy.
In a statement read by city information officer Jefry Tupas, Duterte said her pregnancy was “delicate”, which was why she was rarely seen in public these days. “The human body is made to carry just one baby and I am experience threefold all the pregnancy symptoms that a woman goes through”, the mayor said.
This would also explain why her physicians at St. Luke’s Medical Hospital in Quezon City advised her to rest instead of attending his father and President Rodrigo Duterte’s first State of the Nation Address last June 30. Duterte has a younger daughter, Veronica, with common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña.

Due to her sensitive condition, Duterte-Carpio is laying low from her duties.
