“I am inviting the United Nations’ Ban Ki. what’s the name of that devil?”.

More than 3,000 suspected drug dealers and users have been killed since July and more than 600,000 others have surrendered for fear of being killed in Duterte’s crackdown. “I really don’t give a shit because I have promise to the people of the Philippines who elected me President”, he said.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday challenged the United Nations and the European Union (EU) to investigate the deaths caused by his anti-drug campaign.

Early this month Duterte said “plenty will be killed until the last pusher is out of the streets”.

One of the latest killings, which prompted the European Parliament to issue its recent condemnation against Manila, occurred on September 2, when police attacked a night market in the city of Davao and killed at least 14 people and injured 70 others for alleged drug-related crimes.

“I will write them a letter to invite them for an investigation”, Duterte said, adding he is willing to participate in an open forum that may be held at the Philippine Senate or a local theater as part of the probe.

“Even the European Union is scolding me”, Duterte said in a televised speech at an army base.

“Human rights groups and the United Nations have condemned the extrajudicial killings, with the UN stating that the campaign amounts to a crime under global law”, it added.

Earlier this month he called Barack Obama a “son of a wh*re” as he vowed not to be lectured by the U.S. leader on human rights.

Mr Duterte apologised last month for calling Barack Obama a “son of a whore” after he expressed concerns.

Duterte said at a news conference in the southern city of Davao that he was overwhelmed by the enormity of the problem and may need to extend his self-imposed deadline by another six months to end the scourge. “I repeat it, f– you”.

Without directly blaming the government, the European Union lawmakers said they believed Duterte’s incendiary public statements encouraged mass murders involving drug traffickers and users.

Duterte on Thursday brushed aside a warning this week by Standard and Poor’s not to expect a credit rating upgrade for his country for two years due to the uncertainty triggered by the killings and his public statements.
