Philippines: Typhoon Ineng kills 7, two missing

Some 375 passengers were also reported to have been stranded as of Sunday morning, the Philippine Coast Guard said.
The initial assessment revealed that the damage to agriculture and infrastructure is now at P125. million.
Gov. Imee Marcos said medical teams have reported widespread instances of respiratory tract infections, diarrhea, flu and dengue.
It is expected to be out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Josefina Timoteo, chairperson of the RDRRMC and regional director of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Region 3, has advised all local disaster risk reduction and management councils (LDRRMCs) to continuously monitor the situation and submit report any untoward incidents in their respective areas.
The 17 people missing were from a small mining community that was buried by landslides, police in the area said.
Of the figure, 13,159 people are still staying in various evacuation centers while the rest are staying with their relatives.
The state-run news agency, which cited National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said the number of people killed by adverse effects of the typhoon has now climbed to seven.
The NDRRMC also said there were five persons injured in Mt. Province, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Batanes due to inclement weather.
On Sunday, public storm warning signal 1 remained hoisted over the Batanes group of islands.
Houses and crops have been damaged in parts of Laoag City, the towns of Dingras, Bacarra and Solsona which remain under flood water.
Typhoon Ineng is the ninth out of an average of 20 that hit the Philippines each year and is now heading to Taiwan, the weather bureau said.

The NDRRMC reported more than 10,000 people were badly affected by the typhoon that also damaged 197 houses across Regions 1,2 and auto, while 36 roads, six bridges and one spillway.
