Phillies 7, Marlins 2
There isn’t much that Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki hasn’t done in the game of baseball.

However, in his second most recent start, September 24 in Miami, he allowed only three hits and one run in the Phillies’ 1-0 loss.
Ichiro didn’t do a flawless job – he gave up two doubles, one for a run – but he showed no difficulty hitting 88 miles per hour with his fastball.
There’s no indication that this is the 41-year-old’s last major league season.
The Marlins went 71-91, six wins shy of last season’s total (77-85), for their franchise-record sixth straight losing season. Ramos worked around a one-out walk in the ninth to record his 31st save for Miami.NOTES: Phillies 1B Darin Ruf hit five home runs in his previous 13 starts prior to Saturday, most of anyone on the team. The Fish had jumped him for solo runs in the 1st and 3rd innings to take an early 2-0 lead, the first thanks to an error by Jeff Francoeur, the second on a solo homer from Dee Gordon, his 4th of the season.
Phillies right-hander David Buchanan received a no-decision, throwing 6 2/3 innings and yielding two runs (one earned) while striking out a career-high seven. Between being unable to build off a strong first two months to his foot injury that caused him to subconsciously alter his mechanics leading to bad habits that took a long time to break, Harang would have liked to produce better numbers. Rookie Alec Asher (0-6) lost the second game by allowing three runs in two innings.
Absent from the lineup is Odubel Herrera, as Aaron Altherr gets the start in center field. “I did pitch in an All-Star Game in Japan”.
Harang said that throughout the season he made an effort to talk to the pitching staff’s youngsters while on the bench.
“It really meant a lot to me”, Gordon said.
The veteran is a free agent after the season, and may not be back with the Marlins in 2016. 229 batting average for 2015 were the lowest of his career.

“The final day of the season, they’ve earned the right to see a guy like Ichiro, a Hall of Famer, go out and throw that last inning and kind of punctuate his career”, Jennings said.
