He alleged that “the suspect vehicle struck two of the officers, collided into a police vehicle and crashed into the QT causing extensive damage”.

Police say the trio was taking a break early Tuesday when a vehicle barreled into them.

Two officers were struck around 2 a.m. Tuesday as they stood in a convenience store’s parking lot. The chief called the rookie cop’s actions “heroic”, and said he was “very proud” of how the three officers “reacted and used the least amount of force necessary to put him in custody”. There, he turned off the car’s headlights and sat for several minutes. The auto sideswiped the police vehicle and proceeds to ram the storefront. “There appears to be no brake light activation as Marc accelerates and strikes the officers”, states the police documents.

But it didn’t end there. He jumped out of the way of the vehicle, but was injured in a struggle with Payne after the suspect got out of the vehicle.
Police believe that Payne was driving impaired.
Surveillance video shows Payne on top of one of the officers, using his fists on him. If anything, the video shows that he is needed in this insane world.
All the officers are expected to recover. His right ankle was significantly injured.
The auto barreled into the officers and the front of the QT. The officers’ names have not been released.
The officers were taken to the hospital.
FOX 10 was there as Payne was brought into jail.
Though an initial court questionnaire states that Mr. Payne was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol, Sgt. Howard said tests to determine intoxication have not yet been returned.
“Our Phoenix police officers were targeted”, Phoenix police chief Joe Yahner said in a news conference.
Police say 44-year-old Marc LaQuon Payne aimed at the officers and stepped on the gas, plowing into them – sending a 33-year-old officer on his first day on the job cartwheeling through the air.
Payne was hospitalized with serious injuries he’d sustained in the collision.

Deputy County Attorney April Sponsel said during the brief court hearing that Payne should be held without bond because he attacked the officers and posed a continuing threat to the public.
