Phoenix Suns Offering Eric Bledsoe for New York Knicks No.4 Pick

The Knicks’ predraft huddle was scheduled for Monday, and among the topics: the possibility of choosing Wisconsin star Frank Kaminsky with the No. 4 pick.

If the Suns are indeed not married to the idea of pairing Bledsoe and Knight, or the “dual PG” system altogether, the 4th pick in the draft should hypothetically give them a solid building block with which to move forward.

Earlier this past season, the Phoenix Suns had a loaded backcourt featuring Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas.

The New York Knicks and 1st Round Draft Picks, what could possibly go wrong?

Ford told Bickley & Marotta of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM that the rumored deal would benefit the Knicks, but not Phoenix.

The Phoenix Suns are shopping an Eric Bledsoe trade ahead of the NBA draft this year and teams like the LA Lakers, NY Knicks, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat could be interested in making a move for the guard and this comes as rumors have swirled about trades with DeMarcus Cousins and the number two overall pick on Thursday night. The Suns have been dangling Bledsoe in trade offers this offseason and are likely to continue to do so after the draft if Bledsoe is not moved this week, sources confirmed.

Bledsoe should be the ideal “plug-and-play” talent that Phil Jackson is looking for, as the Knicks president expressed his inclination on having a young veteran than having to pick a rookie who still needs to be developed.

We always need guys that will push our guys or even challenge them for a spot. So aside from netting the Suns the fourth pick and enabling them to choose from the likes of Mario Hezonja, Justise Winslow and Kristaps Porzingis, they will also have an additional $13 million in cap space upon Bledsoe’s departure. Although his athleticism is not elite as far as explosiveness and quickness, what he does with and without the ball is what a coach and teammates desire.

It is said that Kaminsky is high on the Suns’ draft board, but are uncertain if he will still be available at 13. Everyone thought they’re going to keep trying and make the playoffs but maybe the fear of ending up 9th or 10th in the West year after year without actually improving – the famous fear of mediocrity in the NBA, is pushing them towards giving up on their best player. Kaminsky had a good workout and meeting with Indiana, which picks No. 11.
