Two weeks ago reports started surfacing of exploding Note 7 devices and within a day of the reports Samsung confirmed it was suspending its sales of the Note 7, citing a battery cell issue. AT&T and T-Mobile’s recall pages suggest that new Note 7 inventory will begin arriving September 21.

Earlier this week a Samsung executive claimed the cause for the phones’ catching on fire is due to a battery defect. Go to www.samsung.com for more details. This was a result of the recall which resulted in the US Department of Transportation to give the no-fly order for the Note 7. Anyone who has purchased this phone should stop using it immediately, shut it off, and return it to where you purchased it for a full refund, new battery or replacement phone.

Samsung Electronics Co. was sued on Friday by a Florida man who said he suffered severe burns after his Galaxy Note 7 smartphone exploded in his front trousers pocket. In the meantime, Samsung’s market value plummeted by billions of dollars.

Remember, when it’s not setting fire to people’s cars, the Galaxy Note 7 is actually a magnificent soft of smartphone.

Once you have the IMEI or serial number, you can enter it in Samsung’s IMEI checker, which also includes addition information on the Note 7 recall, including contact information for retailers and carriers where you can turn your phone.

Moreover, the company announced that an exchange program is being made in the US where consumers are given three choices if they have purchased the device before September 15. It’s therefore no surprise that the FAA, which last week strongly advised airline passengers from using the Note 7, has banned use of the device during flight.
