“Our power comes from those immortal declarations first put to paper right here in Philadelphia all those years ago: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that together, we, the people, can form a more flawless union”, Obama said.

When they’re not defending Planned Parenthood and calling Donald Trump “dangerous”, Democrats are expected to be on the defensive this week at their convention in Philadelphia.

Painting the upcoming general election showdown between her and Republican nominee Donald Trump as a “moment of reckoning”, Clinton cast herself as a unifier who is battle-tested and the only candidate capable of leading the U.S.in a volatile world. But after the Democrats beat the Republicans the first three nights in total viewers, Trump appeared to back away from his claim on the production of the GOP gathering last week.

She added: “At first, I admit, I couldn’t believe he meant it, either”.

In stark contrast with Trump’s speech a week ago, which created a dark and foreboding picture of America, Hillary Clinton underscored its diversity and idealism in crafting her 57-minute address. “And if you give me the chance, that’s what I’ll do as President”, Clinton said.

She told the convention she had met many people who motivated her to fight for change, including sick children and survivors of 9/11.

“I’ve been watching these speeches at night, and boy am I getting hit”, Trump said at an event Thursday in Iowa.

“Folks, you can not believe one word that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth”, he said.

On Thursday morning, Trump’s campaign sent a fund-raising email urging supporters not to tune into Clinton’s acceptance speech on Thursday night.

“We will prevail”, she said. “You’ve got to get in the arena with her, because democracy isn’t a spectator sport”.

Last night, President Barack Obama took the stage to endorse Hillary Clinton’s run for the presidency.

The identity of the hackers remains unclear, but Clinton campaign officials say agents of the Russian government hacked the emails and have been leaking them in support of Donald Trump’s campaign.

“…there has never been a man or a woman – not me, not Bill, nobody – more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as President of the United States of America”, said Mr. Obama. “He’s betting that if he scares enough people, he might score just enough votes to win this election”, the President said.

Clinton, accompanied by Kaine and their spouses, will use her bus trip to focus on economic opportunity, diversity and national security. The 68-year-old Clinton won the nomination after defeating her main opponent, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
